I'm standing right outside the door of the lunatic prince's bedroom. Contemplating whether to not to enter the room and do my work as a servant, or to just turn around and run the other direction.
While I mule in front of the door, a figure suddenly appeared behind my back.and cough to gain my attention.
"So, you have finally shown up, hmm? You remember, don't you? I took you in as a child, you were meant to serve me."
Now I'm extremely nervous, because everyone under the sun of these city knows that voice, that the one speaking is non other than the deranged prince The Raghav Malhotra.
The black haired, coal- black eyed prince leans against the wall with a disinterestend look on his face, though one could sence a hint of curisity within his expression. His arms are currently crossed against his broad chest. His long eyelash flutters as he waits for my reply. Just his mere height alone is intimidating me as he continues to look down on me.
"Well, are you going to anwer your employer or ahh no no your master or not?"
"Yes...i ...remember...everything." hearing my meek reply amused him, and the corner of his pink lips immediately quikers upward into a smirk.
"Now, is that any way to respond to your master, hmm?" He asked his voice dripping anger. He slowly leans closer to me, effectively trapping me against the wall. He looks down with an expression of both condensation and curisity. He places his hand just above my head trapping me inbetween him and the wall. He stares down at me, as if inspecting every inch of my soul.
"No Sir, I'm sorry." I replied nervously with my eyes downcast. I don't have any power to look up into his eyes.
His smirk grew wider at my little response, his hand gently lifts my chin, tilting my head back a bit more and forcing me to look directly at him. His smirk grew into a smug grin when he noted my nervousness
"Thats a good response, much better than the first time." He lightly chuckles, making me shiver. He leans closed into my ears and whispered "What is your name my dear Servant?" His warm breath tickles my skin.
"Nandini..." I replied in shock, fully aware that he knew every little detail about me, and yet he asked my name...just to mock me.
"Nandini...." He slowly rolls the familiar syllabus of my name on his tongue. His eyes locked into mine and murmured my name again, this time more slowly and carefully.
He moves his hand from my chin to my cheeks, gently caresses the skin with his rough thumb. His smirk softens into small, amused grin as he continues to look into my eyes. His cold gaze flickers over my every feature.
"Pretty name, sweetheart." He said with a soft smile, like it was the first time he had heard it. I stared at him in disbelief tightened in my chest.
As if he didn't know... As if that name wasn't his own creation... Whispered once with affection and love now used like a stranger's greeting.
He gave me that name and now acting like it meant nothing. I fought to keep my emotion in check. But his nearness, just being so close was making it hard to breathe. My chest was tightening with every heartbeat. I tried to move away from him.
He tighten his grip onto my shoulder standing directly infront of me. He still has that smirk, but there is a hint of agitation within his cold eyes as he continues to look down on me, "Where do you think, you're off to."
"I need to clean the room."
"Ohh yaa right, my little bird go on do your work." His smirk grow once again. He slowly lose his firm grip from my shoulder stepping aside, he gives a swift shove into his room.
"Go in and start your work, little bird." He follows directly behind me as I make my way towards his room. He casually closes the door behind us, shutting it with a soft click. He then moved towards the sofa and made himself comfortable with his eyes still on my form. He kept watching me closely like a hawk as he casually stretches his arm behind his head.
"What are you waiting for, get to work." I slowly started arranging the things, wiped all the mirrors and artifacts. His room was the biggest and the most beautiful of all the other rooms in the mansion.
The whole time i continued tyding his room, he just sat on the couch watching my every move. He doesn't said anything just quitely observing and devouring me.
After almost 2 hour I looked up, he has his eyes still focused on me, never straying from my shadow, not even for a second. "You look tired little bird."
"No, I'm fine. My work is completed, I should take my leave." I replied softly keeping my eyes lowered.
"Ohh yaa, LEAVE." he raises his eyebrows
As I said to take leave, with his unknown smirk he watches me silently for a few second, before casually getting off the couch to approach me, keeping his arms crossed.
"Why are you so earer to leave so soon? What's the rush, hmmm?
Ohh, I remember is it because of your useless bastard husband for whom you have to leave." He moved his hand and gripped me hardly by my chin, lifting up my head. Now I'm looking directly at him, I can see the anger in his eyes, the hatred of my betrayal.
I shot him a glare and snapped pushing him away, " You have no right to speak badly about my husband."
His eyes narrowed, the voice was cold and sharp, he gripped my arms "and you think I care about your loyalty.
Watch your tone, I have tolerated enough of your innocence." His grip tightened as his nains dug cruelly into my arms making me flinch in pain.
"I gave you everything, every damn thing from food to shelter, education to love... Everything!
And you? You showed your true color by choosing someone else.
Its was true people like you don't deserve kindness..." He growled his face inches away from mine. "I will crush your so called husband underfoot like a flith!" He spat, his voice trembling with fury.
He slammed me to the floor, a sharp cry escaping my lip as pain shot throw me. "You know what?" He sneered, towering over me, "from this moment on, you will see my worst. I have given you everything until now, but from now...."
I felt numb. Some part of me had always known this moment would come, bur no amount of reasoning could softwn the weight of it.
This is the truth now. I betrayed his, his love, his cars... Every ounce of emotion he gave me....
I shattered it all. But my soul .... It knows why. It always knew this was the only path left to me. The only way to make him move on.
Because no matter how much he gave me...
No matter how much my heart ached
I could never be his
Not his equal. Not your companion. Not your lover.
I am just a maid. A shadow of his sides, never meant to stand in his aura.
Choking on my sobs, I shoved his away with trembling hands. Tears blurred my vision and I stumbled out of his room, barely able to keep my balance. Each step is heavier than the last, like my heart shattering with each step.
