"I'm ready for the marriage," I said sharply. I felt her eyes burn into me, but I refused to look at her, because if I did, if I saw her tears, I would break and weakness is something I cannot afford right now.

"Ohhh, thank God! I'm so happy, Raghav darling," Dadi squealed in delight. "I knew you wouldn't go against my wish. Now everything will fall into place. This alliance will bring enormous profit to our business, and with it, I will finally secure my ticket into politics. At last, I can see the light. Once you're married, I'll hand everything over to you and go on a pilgrimage to thank God."
